  英国是世界上第一个宣布气候紧急情况的国家,并且是2015年巴黎气候协议的签署国,该协议呼吁各国在本世纪末之前减少碳排放并将全球变暖控制在2摄氏度以下。

  去年,全球碳排放量创下历史新高,联合国报告警告说,需要采取前所未有的全球行动,将全球气温上升限制在工业化前水平的1.5C以上。

  科学家本月早些时候警告称,有100万种物种面临灭绝的危险,部分原因是气候变化和人类造成的污染。
